Housing Decarbonisation

Decarbonising housing is one of the big challenges facing the UK on its way to net-zero. Most people still heat their houses with unsustainable gas which contributes to the UK's CO2 emissions. In addition, current housing insulation is often still rather poor. What solutions would you like to see implemented in your community (these could include for example better insulation, air heat pumps, district heating using ground source heat pumps etc.)? Are there any particular challenges/opportunities for decarbonising housing in your area? What would help you and your community in transitioning to more sustainable heating systems? What kind of support would help you (e.g. financial, local advice, support for access to tradesmen)? And what about newly built houses - do you think there should be any special requirements for new builds?
